    • Article 22 provides for the right to freedom of expression for all persons.
    • Article 28 recognizes every person’s right of access to information…held by a public authority performing a governmental function, as well as the right to request the correction or any other modification of information that may be inaccurate [translated from French].
      • The right of access to information provided for [above] is subject to the limitations and formalities established by a rule of law…particularly those aimed at national security, the fight against crime and the enforcement of the law and compliance with a court order or the exercise of legal privilege [translated from French].

There have been no whistleblower protection policies put in place in Seychelles.

Law Proposals

In August 2024, the Cabinet approved the drafting of a comprehensive whistleblower protection legislation, with inputs from ACCS, the UNODC and Transparency Initiative Seychelles.
